The Policy Research Initiative's Symposium on North American Regulatory Cooperation
The Policy Research Initiative (PRI) has been examining the issue of
international and Canada-US regulatory co-operation for more than two years within its North American Linkages project. Regulatory cooperation
is an important component of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of
North America and the Government of Canada’s Smart Regulation initiative. On December 8, 2005, PRI held a Symposium that provided a platform for international experts on the key issues, and to further
inform the discussion of regulatory co-operation with practical lessons from experiences around the
world. The Symposium’s goal was to identify those lessons that would help achieve concrete results for North America. For a report of the symposium, click here.
